In 1958, Kawaguchi area was flooded as Midori River gave away in the aftermath of heavy rainfall due to a typhoon. Near the Kawaguchi Station the water inundated vast areas including the railroad tracks. Kohara Gear's factory was inundated with water, became dirty with cutting oil.
Motors and machines were submerged and became inoperable.
