GCU Gear Assembly Kit (Knockdown style)
Recommended for use in learning about gears! This gear assembly kit clearly shows how gears work. There are assembly kits for different gear types that can be combined in learning more about the characteristics and features of gears.
GCU-S Spur Gear Kit
GCU-H Helical Gear Kit
The Gear Kit contains two-stage spur gears and allows speed increases / reductions, and includes the most commonly used combinations of gears.
Helical gears have more strength than spur gears of the same dimensions and have the advantage of being less noisy.
GCU-R Rack Kit
GCU-M Miter Gear Kit
Use of racks enables the conversion of rotation motion to linear motion. Applications include devices that provide lift.
Use of bevel gears allows the changing of the shaft angle by 90 degrees. Applications include the changing of the direction of power.
GCU-N Screw Gear Kit
GCU-W Worm Gear Pair Kit
Screw Gears are helical gears used in nonparallel and nonintersecting situations. Applications include devices like conveyers with light loads.
Worm Gear Pairs can be used to make large reductions in speed in a single phase. The Worm gear cannot be driven by the worm wheel due to inherent self-locking.
Available for sale in August.2010.
Assembly Instructions (using the GCU-R Rack Kit as an example)
1
Make sure all components are included in the kit. (Important! Be sure to confirm)
2
Remove film coverings from all the frames. The frames are made of polycarbonate, which are lightweight, high-intensity, and have excellent transparency.
3
Attach bushings to the frames. There is no need to care about direction at this stage.
4
Assemble the frames. Care should be taken in the direction of the bushings and their height.
5
Install the Spur Gear (PS1.5-20) to the shaft. (Correct direction does not matter:
this is a temporary installment at this stage, positioning of the gear width of the rack is required afterwards.
6
Set up the shaft in the frame. Be careful for the size of bushings
7
Connect the 4 frames.
8
Insert the rack (SRO1.5-5) with the teeth pointing upwards.
Insert the rack slowly so that the teeth of the spur gear and the rack mate.
After inserting the rack, fix the spur gear in the position where the spur gear is collinearly placed on the rack teeth within its width
9
Attach the pole tips for the round racks on both ends of the rack.
10
Place the remaining frames on the top and bottom.
11
Attach couplings. These couplings are interchangeable for use with other gear kits. If the gear kit is used alone, the couplings can be substituted for a knob when operating by hand.
12
Place the attractive special sticker on the gear assembly kit.
13
Done! A completed assembly kit.
Instruction for Joint-use
1
Align the height of the shafts of each gear kit, sticking out from the frames. Then, attach couplings.
